Charles “Charlie” R. Lathem, 82, passed away on August 22, 2025 at the Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital. Charlie was born on October 15, 1942 in Steubenville, Ohio a son of the late Charles Junior & Sarah Bails Lathem. Charlie proudly served his country in the US Army before working as a Crane repairman at Weirton Steel.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Wilda Bridgette Butler Lathem and second wife Susan Lathem; son Charles R. Lathem II and sisters Edna Robinson, Marjorie Ely & Elizabeth “Betty” Moorehead.
Charlie is survived by his children Mary (Larry) Saccareccia, Tracy Anderson, Carol (Jeff) Bradley, James Lathem, William Lathem & Patrick (Amanda) Lathem; daughter-in-law Diedre Lathem; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday August 28th from 10 a.m. until the time of services at noon. Burial at Fort Steuben.
