Obituary For Charles F. Calabrese

Charles F. Calabrese, 69, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at his home. He was born June 3, 1951 in Steubenville, the son of the late Felix & Ann Golec Calabrese. He was a retired news director for WEIR/WSTV Radio. Charles was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and served as a cantor for many years. He was a dedicated member of Brooke Hills Playhouse, both acting in as well as directing numerous plays.

Although Charles did not have children of his own, he took an active role in his God children’s lives, Harper Mruk and her sister Tara Mruk.

Mass 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Michael Gossett officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary.

No prior visitation.

Due to Holy Week, absolutely no flowers will be accepted.

    Charlie was one of a kind, but more importantly, he was a friend and ally to so many, including me.  I wonder what his review of life on earth will sound like?  You know it will have to start out with his traditional movie review open:  "Was it good?  Was it bad?"  Rest in peace, my friend!
