Cecelia Pesta, 91, of Rayland, OH died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Trinity West. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 23, 1924 the daughter of the late John and Frances Gardner Ogrodowski. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Mingo Junction, OH. She worked in a bakery shop in the Southside of Pittsburgh, PA until she met and married her husband Dave on July 24, 1945 they then moved to Mingo Junction where she became a grocery store owner and butcher for 67 years. Cecelia was a dairy farmer with her husband and sons. Cecelia had a very spunky personality. She liked to sew, shop and decorate. Her greatest passion was being outside working in her garden and painting. She loved having her family around her. Her nickname was “Shakey” because she was always moving. Besides her family, she had a “grocery family” who always looked for her in her favorite chair sewing. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David J. Pesta, he died February 6, 2001. She is survived by her daughters Barbara J. (George) Cook and Rebecca L. Pesta and Tom Rosh; her sons David F. (Patricia) Pesta, Timothy A. (Glenndora) Pesta and Mark A. (Teri) Pesta all of Smithfield, OH; grandchildren Bridget, Mark, Christopher, Tiffany and Ashley Pesta; great grandson Dustin Stingle. Friends may call at Shorac Funeral Home (formerly McClave’s), 611 N. 4th Street, Steubenville, OH on Thursday from 1-4 and 6-9p.m., where funeral services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 12:30p.m. Burial at Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church in Mingo Junction.
