Obituary For Carrie M. (Byrley) Jackson

Carrie Marie (Byrley) Jackson, 35, of Steubenville, Ohio died Monday, July 5, 2010 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.  She was born November 2, 1974 in Steubenville, Ohio.  Carrie attended New Life Church in Perry, Ohio for 12 years, then one year at Calvary Apostolic Church in Columbus, Ohio.  Carrie was currently attending Harrison Hills Church, the church she attended as a child, where she was serving as a youth pastor with her husband Mike.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  Carrie graduated from Edison South High School in 1993.  She has chosen to share the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.  Preceding Carrie in death were her three children Mason, Emily and Kaitlyn Jackson; maternal grandfather Lawrence Hoobler and paternal grandfather Edward Tolley.  Surviving are her husband, of 13 years, Michael A. “Mike” Jackson whom she married on November 16, 1996; son Colton Jameson Jackson; daughter Olivia Leeann Jackson; parents James D. and Donna L. Hoobler Byrley; two brothers David (Mary) Byrley and Brian (Tammy) Byrley; maternal grandmother Helen Hoobler; paternal grandmother Dorothy Tolley and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.  Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville Thursday 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. and on Friday at Harrison Hills Church from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Kirt Denney officiating.  Burial at Fort Steuben.

    Byrley and Jackson families: I am thinking of you at this time of loss. Carrie and I were good friends all through highschool. She was a very good friend, and a kind, gentle person. I won't think of her as gone, but just that she had to move on. I know I will see her again one day. Your family is in my prayers.

    I heard about Carrie from my mother-in-law Mary Alice Steitz; Carrie was her niece and Carrie's Grandmother Helen Hoobler lives near me; I was saddened to hear of a loss of such a young woman. I will pray for Carrie and the family in these very difficult times. John and Mary Steitz
