I am so devastated by the loss of Miss Barrett who was my third grade teacher and one of the finest ladies I have ever known. I rejoice in knowing that there was a wonderful gain in heaven. Another angel welcomed with open arms. After being my third grade teacher and losing touch with her I later found her in my adult life. She forever will live on in my memory and my heart. She was such a special person to all that knew her. She was especially special to my special needs son Dakota and my second son was given the middle name Lee after her. She never let a holiday or a birthday go by without letting us know she thought of us. I will miss her so much and wished I could have seen her one more time But I have faith that I will see her again one day! I will forever be thankful for all that she has done for me and for what she had taught me!

To my " adopted friend " through my sis, who became like another sister to me! I was told you were a wonderful educator, and observed that myself just through conversations with you. Thank you for your excellent sharing of your beautiful quilts, your stories and witticisms, and your friendship toward someone who wasn't a teacher, but understood trough you, Donna, Darla and Barb how important EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING IS. You are truly loved and will be greatly missed!

Mrs. Barrett was an angel of a teacher. I spent most of my 3rd grade year home schooled due to being in a body cast. Mrs. Barrett brought me homework and lots of times taught me at home when I needed it. I will never forget her love for teaching and going the extra mile to make sure a temporarily homebound kid didn't miss school.

Carolyn was a dear friend, with whom I taught for many years at Brilliant Elementary. We attended many meetings together, went swimming and ate out, and kept in touch throughout the years, exchanging cards and telephone calls. She would often take her dogs out visiting elderly people in the community. I am praying that GABE finds a home where he will be loved like she loved him. I cherish the memories of the time when we taught together. She will be greatly missed.
