Carolyn R. “Carol” Benedict, 79, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Thursday August 26, 2021. She was born on June 28, 1942 in Steubenville a daughter of Leonard “Dutch” & Maria McCrum Kessler. Carol retired as a laborer from Weirton Steel. She was a member of Finley United Methodist Church, a Lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and an avid lover of sewing.
Carol is proceeded in death by her husband John Benedict; two sons Jimmy & Billy Benedict; one daughter Angel and one sister Sheila Uebel.
She is survived by daughters Michelle (John) McElwain, Amber (Richard) Pehanich and Tracy Dowdle; three sisters Helen (late Rocco) Duco, Sandra (Thomas) Dellatorre and Joni (James) Huffmyer; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday, August 30th from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. with Leo Gonog officiating.
The family requests everyone wear purple and/or blue; Carol's favorite colors.
