Carol L. Loar, 73, of Wintersville, Ohio died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Acuity Specialty Hospital. She was born July 17, 1941 a daughter of the late Homer Stewart and Margaret Louise Stoltz Deffenbaugh. She was a member of the American Legion Post 557. Preceding Carol in death were her sister Judy Deffenbaugh; brother James Stewart; twin brother Carl Lee Stewart and brother-in-law Arthur Gibbons. Surviving are her husband Robert B. Loar; three daughters Tina (John) Taglieri of Wintersville, OH, Carol (Patrick) Berry of Ann Arbor, MI and Lisa Loar of Blacklick, OH; two brothers Louie Deffenbaugh of Arizona and Jerry Deffenbaugh of Toronto, OH; two sisters Louise “Kookie” (Sam) Cramer of Mingo Junction, OH and Barbara Gibbons of Wintersville, OH; five grandchildren Mindy Pittis of Cadiz, OH, Amber Gould of Galloway, OH, Joey Taglieri of Wintersville, OH, Samuel Berry of Lansing, MI and Maggie Berry of Ann Arbor, MI and two great grandchildren Justice Morris and Brock Pittis. Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Wednesday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. where a service will be held Thursday 10 a.m. with Rev. Bill Westling officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.
