and great grandmother, who spent her life making the world a better place for every life she

touched, passed away surrounded by family, on January 13, 2022 at the age of 83 years. She

has now rejoined her parents, William and Josephine Macpherson, who preceded her in death.

Carol’s story began on February 15, 1938 in Steubenville, Ohio. She was one of five children,

sister, Josie Glauser (Gil), brother, Bill Macpherson (Flor), sister, Cathy DiBartolomeo (David),

and brother Chuck Macpherson (Linda). She was a 1956 graduate of Steubenville High School.

family and many lives she positively impacted. In 1971, Carol began a fulfilling career at St.

Johns Medical Center where she worked nights in Central Services and attended College at

Ohio University, during the day, in hopes of becoming a medical illustration artist. After just six

months the President of the hospital approached her to become an EEG technician. In 1974 the

achievements that were thrust upon her for her hard work and dedication were endless,

including Vice President of the United Cerebral Palsy of the Ohio Valley, Board Member of the

United Way of Jefferson County, The Neurodiagnostic Society Fellow-ASET, but she was most

proud of being honored with the St.Clare Award for exemplary contributions to society and

modeling Franciscan values in everyday life.

live on.

Both my husband Mark and I have known Carol and Ron & her daughter for a long time. I knew her thru ST John Medical/ Trinity. She was an organizer from day one, she planned many bus trips for the employees and their families for years. NewYork City, Niagara Falls, especially Seven Springs Resort snow tubbing. I got very close to Carol working on the SJMC REUNION last year we would talk daily. We could chat for a minute or 20 minutes, she cared about everyone not herself, she worried about the love of her life Ron and her grown children , grandchildren. Carol would give anyone the shirt off her back if it would help someone. Carol was stubborn at times, when I found out she was sick I prayed her stubbornness would get her thru this, but God needed her. Carol we love you & we miss you. Thank you for being my friend, I love Sunflowers too because of Carol . here is one more hug too!

She was a wonderful human being. So lucky to have cross paths, her laughter and kindness was everlasting.

Carol was the most caring, loving and supportive person I have ever had the pleasure to know. Her uniqueness and spirit were one of a kind. She will be missed not only from ASET, which she truly loved, but by everyone who had the honor of knowing her. God has called her home and heaven and the angels are singing.

I am so sad to learn of Carols passing! I know of no person who gave so much to St. John Medical Center and Trinity Health System and its people, while taking so little. Carols contributions to the organization extend far beyond any job duties or manager responsibilities. She championed the organization incessantly. Not only did she carry the SJMC/Trinity banner, she waived it fervently. She was passionate and compassionate about Trinity. She gave of her time freely. She did before she was asked. Carol truly was Trinity! My condolences to Ron; Bob Joe; Jim and Ron Jr. And families!

My children still think of Carol as grandma Bonar! Chrysta and Gary always talk about going to all of the St John Medical childrens partys that Carol lovingly planned. • 09/03/2024

Carol was one of the most generous ladies I have known. I had the pleasure of working with her during the Christmas season during my time of employment with Urban Mission Ministries. Carol was straightforward, up front and knew how to get the job done. I loved her for her these reasons and her humor she showed even when things were down to the wire. I know she will indeed be missed by her hospital crew and anyone who knew her. Love and prayers to Carol's family.

No one has embodied the mission and vision of Trinity Health System and St Johns Medical Center more than Carol. She was the glue that held the organization together through all of the changes throughout the years. She was the cheerleader, the fun seeker, moral compass, and biggest fan of the people and organization. The world is a little darker with her loss. God Bless you Carol!!
