C. Madaline Welsh, 98, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away quietly on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Gables Care Center. She was born October 20, 1908 in Hazelwood, PA a daughter of the late Andrew A. and Frances Frisbie Logue. Madaline was a longtime member of Covenant Presbyterian Church; D.A.R.; Sunset Club, and both the Ohio and Jefferson County Historical Societies. A 1927 graduate of Canton McKinley High School; she was a retired housemother at the former Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing. Preceding Madaline in death were her beloved husband William D. Welsh; three brothers and one sister. A loving mother and grandmother, Madaline is survived by her children Sidney David Welsh of San Diego, CA, Nila June (Dr. Porter) Echols of Richmond, VA, Darla Sue Welsh of Swathmore, PA and William E. (Juanita) Welsh of Steubenville; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and brother Rev. Chester Logue. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.; where services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday with Rev. Walter Coppersmith officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.
