Dear Milliken Family, I did not personally know Brendan but I went to Steubenville High School and was a year ahead of him. I am so sorry to hear of his death. I found out through my church(Starkdale) e-mail, and I felt the need to reply. I am a Deacon there and I want you to know that we are praying for you. No parent should ever have to endure this pain. Please know that although I did not know your son I have him in my prayers. I am deeply sorry for your loss and if you ever need to talk or to pray with someone I am here, just e-mail me. Sincerly with prayers and love, Octavia Lover

Michelle, Kelli and Joel, I was so sad to hear this news today and have sent you love in prayer all day long. What a marvelous family you were with Brendan through this ordeal. I watched you Michelle these past 18 months and listened to the love and compassion you and your family shared. How lucky you were to have this loving time together. Every task you faced though often exhausted emotionally seemed full of grace. Blessings to all of you.

I was one of Brendan's former classmates and friends earlier on in life while we were still in Elementary school. I had the pleasure of riding the bus with him and listening to a couple stories that he had to tell. I am very blessed to have been able to talk to him again to briefly catch up with him months ago, when he had first alerted me to him having cancer. He was always so strong and I'm so very sorry to hear about his passing. He had a beautiful and loving soul and he'll always have a special little place in my heart. If I could afford, I'd be up there Wednesday to say goodbye. Thank you for doing such an amazing job raising Brendan.
