Bonita Day McMaster passed away on September 16, 2013 in Cookeville, TN after an extended illness.Bonnie was born July 14, 1929 in Bergholz, OH a daughter of Morris and Marie Sheckler Day. She graduated from Bergholz High School in 1947. She married Merle McMaster on May 12, 1948 in the Nazarene Church at Wolf Run, Ohio. They had six children that they raised on Yellow Creek.After her children were grown she moved to Kilgore with her daughter Kathy for awhile. The last few years of her life have been in Cookeville, TN with her daughter Jeanie.Bonnie was a devout Christian all her life. She taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years.She was preceded in death by her husband Merle McMaster in 2004 and her son, Dale McMaster in 1973.She leaves three daughters, Judy (John) Schmidt of Wintersville, Kathy (Terry) Ross of Kilgore and Jeanie (Randy) Austin of Cookeville, TN; two sons, Carl McMaster of Millersburg, OH and Morris (Cindy) McMaster of Hilham, TN; sister Avis Burchfield of Akron and brother Jack Day of Florida; 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.“Don’t mourn for me, children, dry those sad eyes. It’s beautiful here, there are no clouds in the skies”“My children on earth, I’ve left you behind. But I’ll see you again, just keep that in mind. My prayers will be with you until that day. That heaven opens up and you come my way.”Rest in peace, Nanny. We all love you.Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Friday from 5-8p.m., where funeral services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 10a.m. Burial at Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Bonnie had such an amazing spirit. She was always smiling and loving. I know that my Grandfather Jack always spoke of her faith and had fond memories of her growing up in Ohio as a child.
