Obituary For Betty Stern Kaplan

Betty Stern Kaplan of Steubenville, Ohio died Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Trinity West ER. She was born in Steubenville, the youngest daughter of David & Rose Ziff Stern. Betty was a member of B’Nai Israel Synagogue. Preceeding Betty in death were her beloved daughter Karen Kaplan Drerup and four sisters Hilda Stern Press, Nettie Stern Supovitz, Martha Stern Green and Ida Stern Cohen.

Betty is survived by her husband Martin B. Kaplan; children Jeff (Darcy) Kaplan of Galena, Ohio, Jill Rozenman of Fairfax, VA and David (Debra) Kaplan of Copley, OH, and six grandchildren Jordana, Mikal, Karen, Michael, Halle & J.J.

Betty will always be remembered for her love of her family and complete devotion to her children and grandchildren as well as her extraordinary compassion and kindness toward animals in need.

Graveside services were held today at noon (Friday) at B’Nai Israel Cemetery with Rabbi Mitch Levine officiating.

Donations may be made DIRECTLY to a needy individual or family of the donor’s choice in Betty’s memory.

    All of our family was deeply saddened by the news of Betty's passing. She was always so nice to all of us when we would were growing up on Woodlawn. We have many fond memories.
