Obituary For Betty Jo Hores

Betty Jo Hores, 83, of Wintersville passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Sienna Woods.  We lost a Nana with a heart of gold, who was worth more to us than wealth untold.  Without a farewell, she fell asleep, with only memories for us to keep.  Yes, we have lost, but God has gained the best Nana the world contained.  She was born on February 17, 1930 in Pine Grove, WV a daughter of the late Milton W. and Florence E. Mayfield Fisher.  Betty Jo was a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church and had retired from the former West Point Laundromat.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth L. Hores; daughter Pamela Sue Skipper and brother Dale Fisher.  Betty Jo is survived by her daughter Beth Rupert (Michael) Warren of Wintersville, OH; sister Gale Myers of Willowick, OH; son-in-law Chuck (Ann) Skipper of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren Christy Magary Williams, Kenny (Amanda) Rupert, Char (CJ Montgomery) Rupert, Karlee Jo Warren, Nancy Hinerman, Patrick (Pam) Springer and Aleshia Springer; great grandchildren William, Gary, Avery, Jaylin and Taylor.  Nana adopted many through her life and hold special; Edna Springer, Denise Smith, Terry and Wanda Retzer, many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Friday 4-8p.m., where funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 12:30p.m. with Rev. Bill Westling officiating.  Burial at Fort Steuben.

    To say I miss her doesn't even begin to say how I feel. I have been blessed to have her and her family in my life. Special people are so few but Nana is and was a SPECIAL person. Love always.

    Beth, Mike, Kenny, Char, and Karlee: Sorry for your loss. Betty was an amazing woman who was kind to everyone. I will miss seeing her smile and wave to me as I pass your house. She is now in a beautiful place reunited with her husband and daughter. Now heaven has Santa as well as Mrs Claus.

    Dearest Beth and Family It seems like forever that I have heard you talk about "Nana" and we gave thanks for the times that she was doing so well. I know that you know she is home with your Father and Sister and rejoicing to be reunited again.
