Obituary For Betty Jane Slentz

Betty Jane Slentz, 86 of Steubenville went home to be with her husband, Harry H. Slentz, Sr., the love of her life, on Friday, August 7, 2009 at Valley Hospice North.  She was born in Jewett, Ohio on July 23, 1923 a daughter of the late Orvell & Georgia Orr Taylor. She was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church in Steubenville. Preceding Betty Jane in death besides her husband, Harry, and parents, were two sons Harry H. Slentz, Jr. & David Kinney; two infant daughters Linda Lou & Lynn Kay Slentz; sister Elizabeth Taylor; brothers Ronald & Robert  Taylor. Betty Jane is survived by her daughters Jean Moore of WV, JoAnn Warrell of AL, and Debbie (James) Monroe of Richmond, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters Shirley Burdette of Dennison, Ohio & Barbara Adams of Newcomerstown, Ohio; and brothers  Ralph Taylor of Follansbee, WV & Vernon Taylor of Chula Vista, CA.  Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville, on Monday from noon until the time of services at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor John Kotsanos officiating. Burial at Fairview Cemetery, Jewett.

    what a true friend Betty was since moving here to Heritage Village, I am sorry I never got to meet her family, but my thoughts go out to each one of you....and the little lantern night light she gave me, I will cherish for ever....she was a true lady. God bless all of you.

    Debbie I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I will always remember what a good neighbor se was to my grandmother when you all lived on McKinley ave.Also I will also remember her from the eagles bingo and from Capri. Keeping you and yours in my every prayer at this very sad time in your life. terri
