Betty J. Sexton, 85, of Columbus, Ohio formerly of Steubenville, died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.  She was born in Lancaster, Ohio on February 14, 1923 the daughter of the late Earl and Pauline Bauman Overly.  Preceded in death by her husband William R. Sexton; brother William Overly and a sister June McNeil.Betty was a member of Sycamore Tree Church, Steubenville (formerly Calvary United Methodist Church) and was active with it’s women’s group; Jefferson County Republican Party and Steubenville Women’s Club.She is survived by her son Daniel (Joanne) Sexton of Cambridge, OH; two grandchildren Douglas M. (Tiffany) Sexton of Powell, OH and Jennifer (Fred) Book of Plainfield, IN; five great grandchildren.Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, OH on Wednesday from 4- 8 p.m., where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m.  Burial at Union Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
