Betty Ilene Saltsman 76 of Wintersville, Ohio died Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at Trinity West, Steubenville, OH. She was born in Dennison, Ohio on November 21, 1925 a daughter of the late David W. and Mae Donaldson Anderson. She was a member of Crossroads Christian Church and the first graduating class of Steubenville High School. Betty was a retired secretary at the former Ohio Valley Hospital after 25 years service. She was preceded in death by four brothers infants Arthur Andrew and Raymond Anderson, David Anderson and Jay Anderson and three sisters Vernice Russell, Ethel Seal and Ruth Harler. Surviving are two daughters Valarie (Jim) Thomas of Steubenville and Kimberly (Darin) Gillespie of Indian Trail, NC; six grandchildren Phillip and Joseph Gillespie, Amber Marchal, Jamie Yeater, Kristine Aldridge and Ed Starkey; six great grandchildren and four sisters Esqueline Burnett of TN, Mary Jane Bryant of Tampa, FL, Jacqueline Hock of Steubenville and Judy Cragle of Wintersville. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday 7-9 p.m. where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday with Pastor George Hugus officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, Ohio. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Christian Church.
