Betty A. Horne, 77, of Wintersville, Ohio whom the good Lord took home on Sunday, May 31, 2009. She was born September 12, 1931 in Natrona Heights, PA a daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret Heasley Stimel. Betty was a homemaker, a foster mother of 29 children and provided babysitting services in her home locally for many years. She was an active member of Wintersville United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and bible study class. Preceding Betty in death was her sister Dorothy Kovasky. Surviving are her husband of 58 years Glenn R. Horne whom she married on February 28, 1951; three daughters Margaret Reed, Georgeann (Gary) Cain and Laurie Frey; five grandchildren Kelly, Jenny, Dwayne “R.H.”, Kayla and Joshua; four great grandchildren and sisters in heart Patricia Ray and Ethel Umbaugh. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville Wednesday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. and at Wintersville United Methodist Church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.
