Aunt Bessie shared her Feb. 22nd birthday with my mom-- two amazing women who made an indelible impression on my life. Aunt Bessie was the best, and she brought out the best in others. Always the optimist, and what a sense of humor she had! Though my husband Doug and I share in the rest of the family's sorrow, we know that Aunt Bessie is where she wanted to be--in Heaven, surrounded by family and friends. We send our love and sympathy to everyone who was blessed by knowing her!

Bessie and I were friends even in Elementary School, where her special wit, daring, and shine made heads turn and hearts throb. She never lost all that beauty and laughter, and remains in our prayers and thoughts forever. May God welcome her into His Eternal Kingdom, and may Dessie, Lorna, Warren, and all her loved ones receive His Great Mercy. With great affection, Fr. Milan Zobenica and Protinica Lindsay.

Dearest Bessie, You were more than a friend to Mom & Dad & me. You said you and Mom were blessed to have each other as lifetime friends and were close enough to call each other Seja (sister) with love and pride. You taught me the meaning of dignity, grace, and kindness and to never dry the dishes--that's what dish racks are for! You made me feel so special as a child by letting me play with all your jewelry on your bed while you and Mom talked in the kitchen and Dad cut the grass. And for 39 years you never forgot one of Kelli's birthdays. And for that you taught her thoughtfulness. We will always miss you. Laku noc, Seja! With much love from Carol, HG, & Kelli MacCartey

Well Aunt Bess, It's time to spread your wings and really fly now! I can only hope to end life with such dignity, grace and LIFE as you My Lady. You taught me so much regarding the Golden Rule, class, tact and "don't sweat the small stuff" and the best, "eat desert first, life's short"! As a kid, it was all about the "drawer", thanks for making life's little surprises so meaningful. I know I was awful about staying in touch but you were pretty bad at answering the phone too..;) Tanner sends his love too, he wishes he could have gotten to know you after all the stories. Come visit any time, I'll do my best to listen and respond... Bon Voyage!

Frankie always loved bones and cleaned them pretty good, but not as good as you did. Serbian New Year is tomorrow and we pray you are in a better place. Bucky sends his love and respect as well as Bobby. WR finally received his kidney 🙂 and along with my self we are blessed with many years of memories. Rest in Peace. Aunt Bessie was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She never missed my children's birthdays. She would always send a card with a sweet note inside. We will miss her letters and cards. Last card she sent, she stated that she was now "90". Amazing, sweet, caring, loving woman.
