Bernice E. Walter 82 of Steubenville, OH and Tampa, Florida passed away at Trinity Medical Center, West, Steubenville on Sunday, April 11, 2004, following a brief illness. Bernice was born in Steubenville on April 3, 1922, the daughter of the late William and Kathryn Parks Hall. She is also preceded in death by her husband, George E. Walter, who died July 30, 1998 and whom she had married on December 5, 1945; and a sister Dorothy V. Hall Gray. Surviving are her daughter, Susan (Mike) Thompson of Steubenville, OH and son, William (Karon) Walter of Tacoma, WA; one brother William (Mary) Hall of Heath, OH; eight grandchildren, Jeffery Aleksiejczyk, Marcy Jo Evans, Amy McIntyre, Drew Walter, Kelly Sue Collins, Chessa Coleman, and Blake and Blair Thompson; and twelve great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Christian Church, 220 N.4th St., Steubenville, OH 43942 and Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 2702 W. Waters, Tampa, FL 33614 any charitable contributions may be given there. Private Funeral services were held at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, OH with final interment by Florida Mortuary in Tampa, FL where she will be at rest with her beloved “Georgie”.
