Bernadette Lee “Bernie” Bell, 72, of Wintersville, OH died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at her residence from natural causes. She was born in Follansbee, West Virginia on September 20, 1939 the daughter of the late William and Audrey Sadler Smitz. Preceded also in death by a sister Donna Clark.Bernie was a life member of the Clendenning Fishing Club and past president of Steubenville Women’s Bowling Association and served on the board of Ohio Women’s Bowling Association.She was a retired bookkeeper for Divco Contracting Company and Morelli Brick and Block Company.She is survived by her husband Robert H. “Bob” Bell; daughter Barbara (Mark) Jones of Virginia; grandchildren Trey and Sagan Jones; sister Sharon (Walt) Gotschall of Arizona and numerous nephews and nieces.Funeral services and burial will be private under the direction of the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville. Memorial donations may be directed to Jefferson County Humane Society.
