Beatrice C. “Bea” Christopher, 77, of Wintersville, Ohio died Monday, November 9, 2009 at Trinity West. She was born November 5, 1932 in Steubenville, OH a daughter of the late Arthur and Ann Kerr Powley. She was an active member of Starkdale Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and a member of session. Bea was a 1950 graduate of JU High School and a volunteer with 10,000 hours of service at Trinity West. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Preceding Bea in death was her son Kevin D. Christopher and two brothers Arthur and Andrew Powley. Surviving are her husband Hugh Christopher; son John (Jane) Christopher of Wintersville, OH; daughter-in-law Lisa Christopher; six grandchildren Shawn Christopher, James Christopher, Justin Holt, Cody Christopher, Justin Christopher and Kim Christopher; three great grandchildren Kim, Kaylee and Zachary Christopher; three sisters Joanne J. of Oregon, Barbara Keeter of Knoxville, OH and Marlene Reed of Richmond, OH; brother Robert Powley of Steubenville, OH and sister-in-law Margaret Powley of Richmond, OH. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville Wednesday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. where a service will be held Thursday 10 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Philip Makari officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. Memorial donations may be directed to Charity Hospice, PO Box 2483, Wintersville, OH 43953.
