B. Gayle Pekruhn 88 of Toronto, Ohio, formerly of Wintersville, Ohio died Sunday, February 1, 2004 at Trinity West. She was born in Wintersville on October 13, 1915 a daughter of the late Charles A. and Lissie O’Ella Mercer Hindman. Gayle was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Steubenville and LaBelle Chapter 414 O.E.S. She was a homemaker and sales clerk at the former Hello Shop in Steubenville. Preceding Gayle in death were her husband William F. Pekruhn, Jr.; daughter Sandra Yost; grandson Lawrence McElroy; brother Charles Hindman and sisters Josephine Saraceno, Mildred Hall and Alberta Cline. Surviving are her son William F. “Trey” (wife Katherine) Pekruhn III, M.D. of State College, PA; niece Betty E. Davis of Toronto, Ohio; nephew James Blank of Hawthorne, FL; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Bethel Bateson officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. O.E.S. services Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Memorial Fund.
