Azalia M. Floto, 96, of Wintersville, Ohio died Sunday May 20, 2007 at Lancia Villa Royale. She was born May 12, 1911 in Allenport, PA the daughter of the late Sidney and Dulcie Higgs Welch. She was a retired salesperson at the former Denmark’s in Steubenville and held church membership at Wintersville United Methodist Church. Past memberships included Wintersville Friendship Club, Women’s League of Wintersville, Pilot Club of Steubenville and volunteered at the former Forester Nursing Home. Preceded in death by her husband Albert L. Floto, Sr. on Feb. 11, 1985; son A.L. “Pete” Floto, Jr. on Nov. 3, 2004; sister Virginia Groah and a brother William Welsh. Azalia is survived by a daughter-in-law Jo Marie Floto of Wintersville; three granddaughters Sydney (Jim) Hobson of Smithfield, OH Mona (Mike) Logue of Hilliard, OH and Marla Knisley of London, OH; six great granddaughters; and four great great grandsons. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville on Tuesday from 10:30 until the time of funeral services at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Baylis officiating. Burial at Union cemetery.
