"Uncle Red" -  rest in peace.   He was a really nice, nice man - I only saw him during extended family gatherings, but he was always a kind, sweet gentleman whom I loved to see and talk with.  Last time I saw him was my own dad's (Don Giffin) funeral last October 2019.   He was fond of my dad, and the love was mutual.    My prayers to the family and friends.   He lived a long, wonderful life.    Renee (Giffin) Dorsey, Kevin and Andrew Dorsey

To my father----I will love you always and you will always be in my heart forever

  • 09/03/2024

If anything Dad, I want you to always remember the following words that help to explain what I have learned from you: A father is someone who understands the things you do and say. A father is someone who knows how to overlook your faults and see's the very best in you. A father is the one who gives you a special kind of love that no one else can give. He understands and inspires you to do your best. A father is warm and thoughtful. When you were younger and an adolescent and felt your growing pains, a father takes pride and understanding in allowing you to express yourself respectfully. A father teaches you the value of treating others with dignity and respect. A father is not afraid to reach out and give you a hug when you need it. A father provides reassurance in times of need that everything is going to be alright. A father is all of these things and more. A caring and loving father is a special gift given to you from above. You are all of things and so much more than I know how to put into words. Thanks Dad for teaching me how to be a father. You have inspired me and you have given me guidance that has carried me through life. I just thought I'd let you know how much I love you and that I'm proud to have you for a father.                                                  Thanks for everything" DAD"With love from your children: Martin, Amelia Kay, Thomas Patrick, Carol Lynn, and Barbara Elaine

Where to begin, Uncle Red has been an inspiration to all of us who has encountered his presence.   Always a warm welcoming smile to a big heart felt hug.  He was always caring, giving & honest about his words.  "By garsh, let me tell you" was most likely how he'd start his conversations.  He has helped by dad through his trying times from my dad losing his dad & my dad's fight with cancer.  Red was always there to lend a helping hand whether it be a ride to a doctor's appointment or a dinner out to Frank's for a fish dinner.  I will miss our conversations about gardening, canning, his surprise visits & hearing you repeatedly tell me how much I reminded him of my Grandma Alice, which means so much to me.  His dedicated love for his family & friends was a love of no other. You will be missed but your name, your smile & respect will live on in my heart for years & years to come.  God bless you Uncle Red.😇
