Assunta M. Olivieri, 88, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Independence Court of Erie, PA. She born in Rosciano, Pescara Province, Italy on June 9, 1933 a daughter of the late Raffaele & Anna Blasioli Recinella. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a gifted seamstress having worked at The Hub and Denmark’s. She was well-known for her giving heart, and old-world cooking of authentic Italian cookies, pasta, sauces, porchetta, tortellini and lasagna Bolognese. Assunta was an active member of the Italian American Cultural Club. Preceding Assunta in death were her husband Corrado Olivieri; son Marco, an infant granddaughter; siblings Pierina DiMichele, Italo & Gabriele Recinella.
Assunta is survived by her son Claudio (Debbie) Olivieri of Edinboro, PA; four grandchildren Marco (Amanda) Olivieri, Lindsay (Joseph) Kalika, Angela (Sergio) Frierson & Dominic Olivieri; four great grandchildren Wyatt Olivieri, Bryce Kalika, Owen Kalika & Sofia Frierson; siblings Tony (Brenda) Recinella & Elda D’Ortenzio.
Per Assunta’s request visitation is private.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral liturgy with mass at Holy Family Church on Tuesday October 19, at 11:30 a.m. with Msgr. Gerald Calovini officiating.
Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
