Arliss E. “Bud” Freeman, Sr., 76, of Wintersville, Ohio died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Trinity East. He was born November 8, 1932 in Clarksburg, WV a son of the late Orville and Clella Davis Freeman. Arliss was Methodist by faith. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War, a member of Weirton VFW and retired from Quaker State Oil as a filter man. Preceding Arliss in death on May 27, 1998 was his wife May Davis Freeman whom he married July 21, 1954. Surviving are his two sons Arliss “Buddy” Freeman, Jr. of Wintersville, OH and Darrin Freeman of Toronto, OH; two daughters Cathy (Walter) Johnson of Steubenville, OH and Patricia Sheftick of Wintersville, OH; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother Loye Freeman of Wintersville, OH and sister Phyllis Turnbull of Akron, OH. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Friday 2 – 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. where a service will be held Saturday 10 a.m. with Rev. Bill Westling officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to Tony Teramana Cancer Center, 3204 Johnson Road, Steubenville, OH. 43952. Burial at Fort Steuben.
