Arland “Zeke” Retzer, 83, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away March 20, 2006 at his residence. He was born July 1, 1922 in Caldwell, Ohio a son of the late Lloyd and Bernice Retzer. After 35 years of service, Arland retired from Steubenville Health Dept. as the milk inspector. A man of faith, he was a member of Wintersvville U.M. Church; Methodist Men and lay member of East Ohio U.M. Conference. He was past president of Wintersville Lions Club and member of Jefferson County Farm Bureau. Preceding Arland in death were his wife Violet “Vi” F. Cresta Retzer; daughter Rev. Loretta M. Retzer; infant sister Sara; brothers Lloyd, Clark, Charles, Jimmy and Robert Retzer; and sisters Betty Morrow, Vangie Herbert, Margaret Evans and Iva Sweeney. Surviving are two sons Terry (Wanda) Retzer of Wintersville and Michael Retzer of Steubenville; granddaughter Nancy M. Shaver-Annibaldi of Bellaire; and grandson Zachary Retzer and his mother Karen McNamara. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, on Wednesday 2-4 and from 6 p.m. until time of services at 8 p.m. with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.
