Anthony J. “Footie” Venci 83, of Wintersville, Ohio died Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Valley Hospice North. He was born March 6, 1926 in Steubenville the son of the late Frank & Josephine Falbo Venci. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church; Knights of St. Anthony and Wellsburg V.F.W. Anthony served in the Army 42nd Rainbow Division during WWII.He was a retired crane operator and ISU steward at Weirton Steel Co. Steubenville Plant. Preceding Anthony in death were his wife Anne M. Savchak on March 8, 2008 and one grandson Stephen Fellows.Surviving are his children Connie (Bill) Fellows of Wintersville, Linda Stead of Steubenville, Dianne (William) Davis of Bloomingdale and Anthony (Debbie) Venci of Steubenville; nine grandchildren Michelle Vella, Brian Fellows, Marc & Shawn Stead, Bethany Wenthur, Justin Davis, Jillian, Brittany & Anthony Venci; four great grandchildren Dominick, Michael, Nikko & Addison; four sisters Agnes Northrop, Virginia (Eddie) Riley, Lucille Lopatowicz all of Steubenville and Mary Jane (Paul) Farr of Florida and caregiver Bonnie Miller.Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home on Friday from 9 - 11 a.m. Funeral liturgy with mass 11:30 a.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church with Msgr. Kurt Kemo officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.Memorials may be directed to Valley Hospice, Inc.Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct services at the cemetery.
