Obituary For Anna Voytilla

STEUBENVILLE, OH  -- Matushka Anna Voytilla fell asleep in the Lord peacefully at her home here on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 -- her 73rd birthday. Born in Centralia, PA, the eldest daughter of Helen and the late Nicholas Timpko, "Mother Anna," as she was affectionately known, was married to the late Archpriest John J. Voytilla for over 50 years. She ministered alongside her husband with joy and grace, a faithful servant of the Church. She truly loved her role as Matushka. She loved to talk on the phone with her family and her friend Angie, and she truly enjoyed the companionship of the many visitors and friends who came to see her, especially her new friends at the Heritage Village apartments where she lived. She also loved traveling and visiting with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her mother, Helen; brothers Archpriest Nicholas Timpko (Anastasia), Priest Frank Timpko (Janet), and Charlie (Patricia); two sisters, Helen Mehalshick (Andrew) and Mary Suda (Archpriest Paul); and sons John (Enid) and Nicholas (Cindy). Another son, Andrew, predeceased her in 1982. She also is survived by two grandsons, Alexander and Jonathan Voytilla, whom she adored, and several nieces, nephews, and godchildren and her little puppy baby Miley.  Friends may call at Shorac Funeral Home (formerly McClave’s), 611 North 4th Street, Steubenville, OH on Sunday from 5-8p.m.  Friends may also call on Monday from 10a.m. until time of services at 11a.m. at  Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Steubenville, OH with her brother Archpriest Nicholas Timpko as main celebrant and her brother Fr. Frank Timpko, her brother-in-law Archpriest Fr. Paul Suda, Fr. Nicholas Halkias of Holy Trinity and Fr. Gregory Thompson of Holy Transfiguration as concelebrants.  Burial at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Campbell, OH. May Matushka Anna's memory be eternal!

I have great memories of Matushka Anna and Father John and their time at Holy Transfiguration Church. She always greeted me with a smile after the Services and both her and Father John had a generous heart and love for others. May her and Father John's Memory Be Eternal, and may the love of our Lord comfort her family at their loss.

Dear Cousins, ALthough we can't be with you, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I was always thrilled when I would visit Uncle Nick and Aunt Helen and Mat Anna was there with the children. She was patient and kind and always had a hug for me, the little cousin with the same name. May her Memory be Eternal. Mat Anna Timko Hughes, Methuen MA
