Anna Byers 93 of Mingo Junction died Thursday, April 24, 2003 at Lancia Villa Royale, Steubenville. She was born in Czechoslovakia on August 24, 1909 a daughter of the late Michael and Susan Valuska Ubrin. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Mingo Junction, American Legion Auxiliary, Mingo Post #351, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, Mingo Junction Democratic Womens Club. She was a retired cook and bartender having worked at the Eagles, Townhouse and Avalon. Proceeded in death by her husband Paul J. Byers, he died in 1964, brothers Michael and John Ubrin, sisters Elizabeth Sarap, Helen Stimpak, Susan Ragan. Survived by sons Paul (Kitty) and Richard (Anita) Byers, both of Mingo Junction, daughter Bernadette (Baci) Carpico of Mingo Junction, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Ave., Mingo Junction, OH on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Saturday, 11 a.m., with Rev. Michael Bongart officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Presbyterian Church.
