Amy Luann McCollough was born in Steubenville, Ohio on November 15, 1967. She passed away on October 24, 2024 after a relentless, unfailingly courageous battle with cancer. At the time of her passing, Amy was surrounded by her entire family at her home in Bloomingdale, OH.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Irene McCollough. She was born the youngest of four children. She is survived by her brother David McCollough (Tonja Quinn McCollough) of Bloomingdale, OH, sister Sally McCollough of Bloomingdale, OH, and brother Kevin McCollough (Lorie McCollough) of Richmond, VA. Her memory will be cherished by her two beloved children, Jared Talley and Hannah Talley of Denver, CO, whom she loved with every ounce of her soul. She is survived by her children’s grandmother, Cheryl Halverson Talley, who was much more than a mother-in-law; Amy always said Grandma Talley treated her as a daughter of her very own. Additionally, Amy is survived by her truly special niece, Tess Swickard of Denver, CO, whom she loved as a second daughter.
Amy was a profoundly dedicated wife and a superior mother who had a deep passion and love for cooking and baking. She was quite skilled in both, and found great satisfaction and joy in sharing her talents with loved ones. She was a dear sister to her siblings, and was deeply loved by all whose lives she touched.
Amy held a deep and abiding faith and loved God and all of His creations. Amy recognized the unique nature of all of God’s children, often avowing ‘The world changed when you were born, and will never be the same once you leave’. We take comfort in our precious memories, the gift of a loving extended family, the blessing of a multitude of friends, and the understanding that Amy rests peacefully and pain free forevermore as we learn to adapt and journey on without her.
The family is so very thankful and blessed to have been afforded the expertise and care from Dr. Iyer, Dr. Provenzano, and the skilled and caring nurses and staff of the Teramana Cancer Center.
A celebration of Amy’s life is being planned by the family and will be communicated at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Amy’s life with a donation in support of her children to The Amy McCollough Legacy, c/o (and checks made payable to) David McCollough, 127 Janet Dr., Bloomingdale, OH, 43910.
