Allen H. “Hugh” Christopher, 78, of Wintersville, Ohio died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Trinity East. He was born September 21, 1932 in East Springfield, Ohio a son of the late Allan S. & Gladys Grimm Christopher. He was a member of Starkdale Presbyterian Church and Weirton Steel 25 Year Club. After 44 years of service, Hugh retired as a mechanical supervisor from Weirton Steel and also drove for State Park Motors. Preceding Hugh in death were his wife Beatrice C. “Bea” Powley Christopher on November 9, 2009; his son Kevin D. Christopher; two brothers and two sisters.Hugh is survived by his son John (Jane) Christopher of Wintersville; six grandchildren Shawn, James, Cody, Justin & Kim Christopher and Justin Holt; three great grandchildren Kim, Kaylee & Zachery; and daughter-in-law Lisa Christopher.Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.; where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. Bruce Hitchcock officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.Memorials may be directed to Charity Hospice.
