Joyce, Ann, Mary Alice, and Nathalie - we were so sorry to hear of Alice's death. She was a dear, dear neighbor and friend to our family. We lived next door to her for 25 years and enjoyed her friendship, good humor, and many kindnesses, and our three children thought the world of her. We always enjoyed seeing her and Frank going out on their dates, most especially when they went out "sportin'" in his convertible. They were the "idols" of almost every couple in the neighborhodd - in fact, we all would tell them that we wanted to "grow up" to be just like them!! Who had more fun!!! Something else I remember is that all the ladies in the neighborhood would tell Alice how beautiful she was and that we wanted her beauty secrets!!! She was, in fact, beautiful in every way. Our family cherishes the time we had with Alice and the many memories. What a grand lady she was. God bless all of you in your loss. We know you will sorely miss her. With love, Liz and Lou Lamatrice

Mrs. Ryan was the ass't director of Ohio Valley School of Nursing when I took my first teaching job. Although I had left working in the Ohio Valley she still manage to keep tabs on my career. I was blessed to have such a wonderful, caring, and nurturing mentor. She was a person of poised and had a wondeful sense of humor, and always listened to your concerns. My deepest sympathy for your loss, but remember the wonderful pleasures and treasures that she has given to you.

As Nathalie's childhood best friend, Alice was like a grandma to me and I am so thankful for all the great memories and time I spent with Alice! I so admired Alice as she was such a lovely, beautiful, kind, and intelligent person. She always welcomed me like family every time I came over to her house. Having lost my Grandparents at a very young age, I have always thought of her as my Grandma too and will deeply miss her as I shed my tears writing this letter... She was blessed to have Nathalie, Marcie and Joyce by her side while she passed so I know she was at peace. My love and prayers go out to the entire Ryan Family! Times like these I wish I didn't live on the West coast (Oregon), else I would be there for you in a heart beat!

Dear Joyce, Ann, Mary Alice, and Family Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your Mom. I feel like I have known her forever as our journey goes way back to 1985 becoming hospice volunteers together. She was a woman of class, and a true saint on this earth. May it bring you all comfort to know that she is indeed "safely home". I am so grateful I got to see her on that last day. I will always remember the honor that it was. Know I hold you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. With Love and Prayers, Cathy Cich

Mrs. Ryan was the epitome of gentility and class. I will never forget some of the wonderful conversations we had at her house, particularly at Christopher's christening, as well as the many special times at her daughter Joyce's home. I will always be grateful for how she raised her children, especially my beautiful friend, mentor, and hero, Joyce. I will never forget all the kindnesses bestowed upon me by her family, particularly Joyce and Melissa. My prayers and love are with you all at this time. Love, Stephen

Alice Ryan was a wonderful woman and the Mother of one of my best friends. I feel so privileged to have known her throughout my life. She was very lucky to have had such a wonderful family who cared for her with so much love and kindness. To her family: I'm sorry for the pain you feel right now and hope that you can soon feel better knowing that you did everything you could for her and she definitely felt that caring and love. Rest in peace, Alice.

I remember her from the white elephant sales and the 25cent sales when i was kid. She was so kind. May God Bless the family at this time.

Dear Mrs. Ryan, I was so blessed to have grown up living next door to you. You were so kind to me, inviting me over for lunch or cookies and milk, especially when I was new to the neighborhood. I remember one day when you came home from the grocery store and I was outside in the yard and you brought me a treat that you had gotten for me. You made me feel so special then and your kindness never ceased. Rest in peace, Mrs. Ryan, and look down on all of us who were so lucky to have you in our lives. Now I know for sure that there is at least ONE soul in heaven! God bless you and keep you forever! Love, -Greg

Grandma, I loved the way you made me feel like your favorite! I will forever treasure the memories of staying with you in the summer. We had breakfast on the patio and used the good china and silver. My heart soars when I think how special you must have thought I was to use "the good stuff"! That was your beautiful gift. You were gracious in all situations and made others feel special. You were a woman ahead of your time and truly an inspiration to us all. You are loved. You are missed. You remain a blessing to us all. XO Linda Joyce
