Alice I. Purviance, 91, of Steubenville, Ohio, died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at her home for the past three years Trinity East Tower 9 Long Term Care. She was born July 28, 1918 in Mingo Junction, OH a daughter of the late James and Florence Heisler Stahl. Alice retired as a sales clerk from Mr. Wiggs Department Store. She was protestant by faith. Preceding Alice in death was her husband Glenn M. Purviance; infant son William Glenn Purviance; three sisters Blanche Hobson, Fern Coen and Gladys Walker and two brothers Earl and Elmer Stahl. Surviving are her son James A. (Michele) Purviance of Wintersville, OH; two grandchildren Matthew (Kara) Purviance of Steubenville, OH and Amber (J.R.) Ankrom of Toronto, OH and two great granddaughters Savanna Rae Ankrom and Ashlyn Pinkerton both of Toronto, OH. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday 6 – 8 p.m. where a service will be held Wednesday 10 a.m. with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating. Burial at Oakland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Wintersville United Methodist Church.
