Alice E. Illig, 93, of Wintersville, OH died Monday, February 9, 2015 at her home. She was born November 12, 1921 in Wyatt, WV a daughter of the late Charles H. and Bertha Mason McClain. Alice was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Follansbee High School in 1940. Preceding Alice in death were her husband George T. Illig; two sisters-in-law Lillian Harshaw and Sue Illig and two brothers-in-law Howard and Wilbur Illig. Surviving are her children Rebecca (Tom) Childers of Bloomingdale, OH, David (Judy) Illig of Ocala, FL and Charles (Lora) Illig of Dover, OH; three granddaughters Diane Illig of Mineral City, OH, Lisa (John) Tanner of Dover, OH and Casey (George) Illig of Gahanna, OH and two great grandsons Jason Pyle of Walterboro, SC and Mason Illig of Gahanna, OH. Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville. Burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Weirton, WV. Memorial donations may be directed to Steubenville Salvation Army.
