Obituary For Alice Argano

Alice “Old Mama” Argano, almost 97 came onto this earth November 13, 1922 in Barnesville, Ohio. God sent for her to come home to be with Him on Tuesday, October 22, 2019. Mom was an awesome and incredible lady; she was the chaplain at Gables Care Center for two years. She told us she had “so much work to do” making certain every resident received a personal birthday card. She graduated as an L.P.N., volunteered at the Urban Mission for years, crocheting hundreds of hats for children, passed out food to the needy and offered to carry groceries for the “elderly”. Mom made beautiful birthday and wedding cakes, afghans and quilts, and crocheted wonderful doilies. Just eight days ago she started her last doily. She was a member of the Hope Community Christian Church. Waiting for her to come home to be with them were her husband Donald Daniel Argano; father Belford Russel Carter; mother Arizona “Alice” Wagner Carter Campbell; her grandson Billy J. Reed; her brothers Ernest Flanagan, James and Freddie Carter; sisters Edith Schultz and Leota Mae Johnson. Survived by sisters Ethel Mae “Betty Jane” Pickens and Elfrieda I. Jones; daughters Donna Jane Argano Freeman and Tinnie Jo Argano Reed; God Child Patty Ficco Tatar; 8 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 20.5 great great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Friday from 3-6p.m., where funeral services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2019, 10a.m. with Imre Gulyas and Jeremiah Kuttler officiating. Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in the Holy Spirit Mausoleum. Momma, we will miss you terribly. We’ll see you later.
