Obituary For Alice A. Bello

Alice A. Bello, 88, of East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Calcutta Health Care Center. She was born January 19, 1927 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late Clarence J. and Annetta Landerfield Shoemaker. Alice was young at heart even though in later years she was unable to participate in what she loved. She loved to take long drives in the country, meeting new people and discovering new places. Alice loved to reminisce about her life, family and friends. She was not affiliated with a church but was a strong believer in prayer and its ability to bring peace to one’s spirit. Recently, she enjoyed playing bingo, working word puzzles and of course, talking with everyone she met. Alice had many jobs throughout her life but she was most proud of her last job at Jefferson Behavioral Health System. She worked there from 1981 – 1997 working at the Gill house first as a secretary then retiring as a house parent. Surviving are her daughter Cynthia (Michael) Peshel of East Liverpool, OH; two grandsons Ian (Lauren) Peshel of Coconut Creek, FL and Brian Peshel of East Liverpool, OH; great grandson Lyden Peshel of Coconut Creek, FL and brother Jay (Pat) Shoemaker of Bloomingdale, OH. A service will be held at a later date.

So sorry to hear of Your mother's passing. I worked with Alice in the 80's at Gill House. We had so much fun at that job! She had the best sense of humor, and I don't think she'd mind me telling this, but sometimes she would jokingly say ornery things to me just to see how red my face got! She was the best!

I am saddened to hear of the passing of your mom. I loved when she used to visit and tell stories of her and my dad. I learned so much family history from her. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I am so sad to hear of your mom passing... I am so sorry I didn't get to visit her but we had so many terrible health things this past 2 and a half years...iSHE was so kind and funny and good to me when we worked at the GILL HOUSE and when she retired she would often take a ride to Mingo and we would have lunch together and laugh so much....I enjoyed those visits and she will never be forgotten...may she rest in peace eternally and GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU...
