Alfred H. “Al” Dunn, 71 of Bloomingdale, Ohio formerly of Rinker Road, Steubenville, a loving husband, father and grandfather entered into eternal peace and rest on Tuesday, April 11, 2006. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on March 28, 1935 a son of the late Joseph and Minerva Wirick Dunn, Sr. He was a member of Brentwood U.M. Church; Wintersville American Legion Post 557; Weirton V.F.W.; Weirton Tri-State Marines; Steubenville Masonic Lodge 45 F&AM; Weirton Steel 25 Year Club and served as Cross Creek Township Trustee from 1990-1994. Al was a retired rigger from Weirton Steel and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Preceding Al in death were two brothers Joseph Dunn, Jr. and Robert Dunn; and two sisters Leanore Carter and Ruth Turnbull. Surviving are his wife Marlene R. Lemasters Dunn whom he married on August 18, 1957; son Al (Kris) Dunn of Wintersville; daughters Lynn (Jeffrey) Hobbs of Deer Park, Texas and Lori (Bob) Wade of Pittsburgh, PA; seven grandchildren Ryan, Jordan & Erika Hickman, Katie & Andrew Dunn, and Ryan & Logan Wade; and two sisters Martha Swickard of Sterling, VA and Lois Bloomfield of Steubenville. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 and on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Rev. Bill Westling officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct military graveside services. Masonic services 7 p.m. Friday. Memorial donations may be directed to Brentwood United Methodist Church, 148 Stephens St., Wintersville, OH 43953.
