Obituary For Albert Pavlik, Jr

Albert Pavlik, Jr., 87, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on October 17, 2014.He was born April 18, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of the late Albert & Anna Homulka Pavlik. He was a 1948 graduate of Carnegie Institute of Technology with a degree in Chemical Engineering and worked in the family business, Barium & Chemicals, Inc., as Vice President of Sales & Production for 57 years until his retirement in 2005. Albert was a very active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church since 1963 and served as Trustee, President and Elder and sang in the church choir. He also served on the Board of Directors of both UniBank and Trinity Health System for many years. Albert’s memberships included Deutschie-Annick American Legion Post 888, South Hills Masonic Lodge 761 in Pittsburgh, Valley of Pittsburgh Consistory and Syria Temple Shriners. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII; was an avid vintage car collector and served on the national board of VMCCA; loved music, dancing and sharing his talents in playing the piano and organ.Albert is survived by his beloved wife Eleanor, whom he married on June 24, 1950; four children Albert (Kathy), Virginia (Eric) Exley, Charles (Kim) and Carol Pavlik; 11 grandchildren Daniel Albert Pavlik, Elizabeth Kay Pavlik, Nathan Edward Pavlik, Charles Andrew Pavlik, Jr., Margaret Ada Pavlik Herceg, Gregory Albert Pavlik, Samuel Raymond Pavlik, Barbara Renee Exley Snyder, Matthew Eric Exley, Kevin Benjamin Walden & Catherine Elizabeth Walden. He was also blessed with 5 great grandchildren,Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral services 11 a.m. Tuesday at Covenant Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ron Pritts officiating (everyone please meet at church). Burial at Union Cemetery.In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Covenant Presbyterian Church.

    It is with great sadness I learn of Mr Pavlik's passing. My condolenses to sons Chuck and Al and the balance of his family. Sorry I am Unable to express my sympathies in person, as I now reside in Las Vegas. This good, gentle, and kind man was always supportive of me and I so enjoyed our mutual interest in Antique cars. RIP and drive that nice Buick sedan around in heaven.

    My thoughts and prayers are for the entire Pavlik Family. Albert was always a good man! I will miss seeing him ride around in one of his old historic vehicles. Albert will be placed on our prayer list at church.
