Albert John Teramana Jr. of Steubenville, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on the afternoon of Saturday August 12th, 2023 at Trinity West Hospital.
He was born in Steubenville on May 6th,1947, son of the late Albert J. Teramana Sr. and Imogene M. Blake Teramana. Albert attended Wintersville High School before beginning work in the family business. From cranes to bulldozers and everything in between, he had a passion for operating large machinery and heavy equipment. This passion translated to anything with speed. He adored his sports cars and racing boats. He drove his motorcycle from the East to the West Coast and had the first Bricklin on the west side of the Mississippi. His enthusiasm never stopped, starting with his first candy apple red Corvette to his current Z06.
Albert and his brothers started working together at Teramana Brothers Coal. He created Albert Signs and along with his brothers, expanded their businesses throughout the Ohio Valley with Team Automotive.
Albert married Karen Harris in 1969 and had two children, Marni Teramana and A.J. Teramana III. Years later, he married Jill Slater. They started their life together in 2000 and were most proud that they brought their two families into one. He loved his children and had a soft spot for his grandchildren.
From his travels in Italy and Brazil, to Greece and Longboat Key, Albert never knew a stranger. Every person who met him was greeted with a smile and a story. His love for family and friends was never ending.
Preceding Albert in death were his parents, brother Geary D. Teramana, Sr., nephew Geary Teramana Jr., and sister-in-law Irene Teramana.
Albert is survived by his wife Jill R. Slater Teramana; children Dr. Marni (Steve Roebken) Teramana, A.J. Teramana III, Shane Teramana and Wesley Teramana; three grandsons Harrison, Hudson and Hamilton Roebken; brothers Terrence “Whitey” Teramana and Mark K. Teramana; sister-in-law Patricia Teramana, nephews Geno Teramana, Corey Teramana, Mark P. Teramana, Justin Teramana and Jordan Teramana and their families.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Thursday, August 17th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral liturgy with mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 18 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 852 Main Street, Wintersville with Rev. Michael Gossett officiating. Entombment in the family mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery will follow.
