Obituary For Albert E. Blackburn

Albert E. Blackburn 81 of Steubenville died Saturday, November 8, 2003 at Trinity West. He was born in Fairplay, OH on April 22, 1922 the son of the late Albert R. and Sarah Kuhn Blackburn. He was preceded in death by his wife Ellen Slates Blackburn on July 17, 1991 (whom he married on April 22, 1942) and two brothers Russell and Finley Blackburn and two sisters Iva Paxton and Faye Thompson. Albert retired from Tri State Rubber Sales as a foreman and was owner and operator of Blackburn Tire Shop in Richmond. Member of Finley United Methodist Church and attended Rosemont Community Chapel, a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army, past commander of Wintersville American Legion Post #557 and member of Steubenville VFW Post #80, charter member of GKL Sportsman Club. Surviving is a daughter Joyce (Rudy) Morelli of Steubenville and two sons Albert William (Mary) Blackburn of Richmond and Donald Dale (Carol) Blackburn of Bloomingdale. Three brothers Jim and Jacob (Dorothy) Blackburn both of Bloomingdale and Robert (Pat) Blackburn of Wintersville. One sister Ella Eshbaugh of Richmond and six grandchildren William, Casey, Mark, Matthew Blackburn and Richard and Lisa Morelli and 4 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Pastor Charles Shoe to officiate. Burial at Bloomingdale Cemetery. Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad to conduct military services at the gravesite.
