Obituary For Agnes Wanchic

Agnes Wanchic, 92, of Weirton WV, formerly of Mingo Junction OH, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Mingo Jct. on March 12, 1925 to Michael and Anna (Getsey) Grantonic. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Wanchic (1984) whom she married on January 10, 1948. Also preceding her in death were her sisters Mary Catherine Hadobas, Alice Jones, a brother Lawrence Grantonic and sons-in-law Michael Krenzel and Charles McAfee.

Surviving are three daughters Denise Krenzel of Barboursville WV, Diane McAfee of Weirton, WV and Katrina (Robert) Mills of Weirton WV, two sons David of Weirton, WV and Daniel (Francine) of MN , a special niece and goddaughter, Mary Hadobas of Weirton, eight grandchildren Eric(Maria)Wanchic of Steel ND, Todd Wanchic of Oregon, Michael and Brian Krenzel of Barboursville WV, Kyle and Lindsay McAfee of Weirton WV, Maria (Derek) Costlow of Steubenville, OH and Sarah Mills of Weirton WV, six great grandchildren, Tyler, Caleb, Adrien, Aurelia, Demitri, and Lucy, two sisters, Patricia (late Carl) Snyder of Florida, Marlene (lateJohn) Nese of Steubenville, OH and one brother Jon T. (Betty) Grantonic of Steubenville, OH.

Agnes lived a quiet, faithful life in service to others and would like to be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Wednesday 4-8 p.m.On Thursday, friends may call at St. Paul Catholic Church, 3500 Main Street, Weirton, WV from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral mass at 10 a.m. with Rev. Larry W. Dorsch officiating.

Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, Ohio

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, Weirton WV or Valley Hospice of Steubenville.
