A.L. “Pete” Floto, Jr. 70 of Wintersville, Ohio died Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on October 15, 1934. Pete was a member of Wintersville U.M. Church and Unionport Masonic Lodge 333 F&AM. He was a retired foreman in the 80 Inch Mill at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. and currently employed by Haas Environmental Management in New Jersey. Pete was preceded in death by his father Albert L. Floto, Sr. and one grandchild Jesse Harman. Pete is survived by his wife Jo Marie Heightland Floto; mother Azalia Welsh Floto; five daughters Sydney (Jim) Hobson of Smithfield, Ohio, Mona ( Mike) Logue of Columbus, Ohio, Marla Knisley of Grove City, Ohio, Angela Gorby of Battleground, WA and Missey (Brian) Sutherland of Richmond, Ohio; one son Steven (Ladona) Harman of Seattle, WA; 15 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many friends. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.; where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Indian Creek Athletic Booster Club. Pete’s motto was “never gave up in the game of life, just ran out of time”.
