Clarke E. Wheaton, Sr. 82 of Richmond, OH died Saturday, May 4, 2002 at Trinity West, Steubenville, OH. He was born in Steubenville on June 29, 1919 a son of the late Homer and Gertrude Coleman Wheaton and was preceeded in death by two sisters Velma Albright and Thelma Miller and four brothers Homer, William, Raymond and Virgil Wheaton. Clarke was retired from the railroad dept. at Weirton Steel Co. and served in the Army during WWII. Surviving are his wife of 57 years Mildred E. Drazich Wheaton; one son Clarke (Jacqueline) Wheaton, Jr. of Richmond, OH; three daughters Constance (Jerry) Clark of Greely, CO, Carol (William) Monroe of Orlando, FL and Rebecca (Glenn) Schultz of Mingo Jct., OH; one brother Ralph (Carmella) Wheaton of Mingo Jct.; nine grandchildren Stephanie Geitner, Holly Wheaton, Jerry Wayne (Gloria) Clark, Janelle Clark, Jeffrey Clark, Michael (Dana) Ritchie, Jeannie (James) Huffman, Brian Schultz and Shannon Schultz; 14 great grandchildren Josephine Clark, Jerry Curtis Clark, Jennifer Clark, Jocelyn Clark, Vanessa Lee, Jana Clark, Tanjia Jones, Tashia Jones, Vanessa Jones, Veronica Jones, Tamera Jones, Myron Jones, Summer Ritchie and Rachael Ritchie. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.; where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Paul Achhammer officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates with Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad conducting military services.
